tolerance is holy (2007)

Daniel Young & Mirko Ilic 24"H x 36"W

A moral lesson for the rabbis, priests and mullahs who opposed an international gathering of gays in Jerusalem on the ground it would "desecrate the holy city." In this view of the Old City, pink triangles are substituted for some of the rooftops, a rainbow adorns the sky and a heavenly message announces "Tolerance is Holy. "

Proceeds go to organizations fighting intolerance.

Man Imagines a God (2009)
Daniel Young 18"W and 24"H

This poster transforms an iconic example of Western art to show a more accurate (but no less beautiful) picture of "creation." Michelangelo's visualization of a god and the god's supporting cast are repositioned inside a "thought bubble," the appropriate visual shorthand used in modern cartoon art. Hopefully, this revision of a widely-recognized work of art will encourage people to reach a deeper understanding of the development of gods in human history.
